The coolest book on the shelf

ART IS COOL.
Goal: create a 44 page book revolving around the assigned word "cool".
cover:
-Front: An illustration depicting the famous David statue with blue sunglasses with the book title "Art is cool."
(because it is!)
-Back: Shows a silhouette of two people talking. The man is trying to make a corny joke playing on with the word cool and how one might compliment this book. Meanwhile the woman, who's probably hear this similar joke a million times while making this book, is unamused. (may or may not be based off of real events ahem)
-Uses the orange and blue color scheme, representing UIUC (if you look closely there is the block I on the back cover)
such cool cool colors
I wanted to make spreads highlighting each cool color: blue, purple, and green.
OMG so vintage!
Pages that have that vintage/retro touch.
personal favorite:
This spread is the first in the book. It features a pair of vintage sunglasses, and in the lenses are two kids with a pair of their own sunglasses. The girl in the left one asks if they'll ever be cool. The boy in the right one simply replies "wdym? we're already cool".

The idea I had behind this was when growing up, you always wanted to strive to be the 'coolest' kid in school. This is most likely due to the stigma and social trends shown in tv shows, movies, books, school, etc. I feel like even though we're older now, most of us still have this gut craving to still be 'cool'. However this should not be the case since there was a time when you were little where you didn't care about being cool, you were just being you. So don't worry about whether or not other people think you're cool, cause you already are baby ;)
(also it's has a special touch because the little kids featured are me and my boyfriend)
The coolest book on the shelf.
Note the orange spine with the tag line, "the coolest book on the shelf".
I envisioned that when its squished on a bookshelf, where one can only see the spine of a book, that is the first line they'll see and ultimately pull it out.
