Concept
Historically, type specimen books have been used by designers to pick a font for their designs. Avenir is a geometric font that takes on many uses in the business and online worlds, and is versatile in the sense that it can be used in any size or weight and still be easily legible. I aimed to represent Avenir in a way that demonstrates its versatility using contrast of size and overlap of design elements to create an interesting layout.

Color Palette
The colors that I selected relate to the concept that the word Avenir stems from the French translation of the word "future". The color green is representative of nature and new beginnings, and the use of a green color palette for my type specimen book demonstrates that Avenir is the font of the future and will be used in a variety of applications for the years to come.
