For this student project, we were tasked with creating five dynamic black and white compositions using the element of design including: movement, symmetry, asymmetry, golden mean, and negative space.

I started with creating thumbnails of each category. Each category uses a different shape, and each design represents a principle of design.

From the thumbnails I draw 1 design from each category on a piece of Bristol board. I used pencil, micron pens, and a brush pen to fill in the desired shapes. Overall, the final designs showed how different principles of design can be shown in a composition by using shapes.
