BRIEF
Maison Mer is a vacation home based in Nice, France. It was built by a couple who enjoyed the seaside and lived there with their daughter and their dog, Spoolie. As there will be a tourism boom in Paris and potentially the whole of France in 2024, they are looking to rent out the home to tourists. It is a beautiful home for a small family located by the beach. It’s fully furnished, family-friendly and is a decent walking distance from the city bustle but far enough for an intimate family vacation time.
SOLUTION
The name ‘Maison Mer’ is a combination of two French words which translate to ‘sea house’. Situated in Nice, the beautiful Mediterranean port city in the south of France, the visual identity portrays the soothing, refreshing and fun character of the seaside.
Maison Mer leans into the idea of the sea being a birthing place where things come alive, heal, grow and are restored. Its mission to provide an idyllic and exuberant home comes to life through the softness and roundness of the typography. Characterised by typical colours of the seaside to depict its calmness, cream and blue, the mustard yellow is added as an accent color that evokes friendliness, joy and adventure - family trip essentials!
