Savour for Bon Marché, Zimbabwe

Scope of works: Strategy, Brand Design, Packaging Design


Our brief was to come up with a name, logo and packaging design for Bon Marché Zimbabwe’s premium private foods label across the Meat, Fresh goods, Delicatessen, Bakery and FMCG categories.

Drawing inspiration from the act of slicing bread, vegetables, fruit, and meat during food preparation, we examined the various knife serrations tailored for each. This exploration led us to develop unique patterns for each fresh department to own, establishing a distinct visual identity that extends across all packaging elements.






One significant challenge we faced was ensuring the presence of the Bon Marché Zimbabwe brand as an endorser across all touch points. To achieve this, we elevated the Bon Marché brand to a premium status by incorporating the cut apple brand mark in gold. Colour played a pivotal role in this transformation; the addition of gold foiling imbued a sense of premiumization, harmonizing beautifully with the deep green and white palette. Furthermore, distinct background colours were employed to further differentiate each category along with its pattern.
