Fuut, Great Crested Grebe, Podiceps cristatus

The grebe is the most common grebe species in our country. It occurs as a breeding bird in all kinds of waters, from city parks and canals to dune lakes, swamp areas, edges of large bodies of water and river nature. The largest numbers occur in the Lower Netherlands. Grebes sometimes mate early in the year with spectacular courtship rituals.
