PENNY DREADFUL SEASON ONE PACKAGING
The packaging for the first season of Penny Dreadful was derived from the line of dialogue that encompasses the central narrative and connection between the anti-heroes of the show. “Do you believe there is a demi-monde…a half world between what we know and what we fear…a place in the shadows rarely seen but deeply felt…where some unfortunate souls are cursed to live always.” The creatures depicted in the graphics represent that dark space within each character: Vanessa the witch, Sir Malcolm the explorer, Ethan the gunslinger, Victor Frankenstein, and Dorian Gray. This concept was an extension of the direction for the original opening title sequence. The 3D elements and compositing were executed by Lauren Indovina at Psyop. The animation, editing, and type design, glyph animation, and concept were my contributions.
