Blue-Ringed Brainsucker
The Blue-Ringed Brainsucker is an alien creature I designed and modelled in Maya for my 3D Modelling and Animation I final project. Hailing from a planet where cephalopod-like organisms are dominant, the Brainsucker uses its tentacles to ensnare prey and eat their brains. It has no eyes or ears, so it senses its prey telepathically. In order to achieve the look I wanted for the Brainsucker and its environment, I applied UV textures and rigged the model for animation. As demonstrated by the video above, the Brainsucker pulsates like a jellyfish as the camera rotates around it.
