ModuPlay
An Innovative Modular Play Structure
ModuPlay allows children to build and customize their own play space using PVC pipes, fittings, and FDM 3D-printed parts. It encourages creativity, problem-solving, and active play.
These are developments of a concept that required focus on weight reduction and DFM. The development pivoted on OTS parts and 3D-printing, greatly improving overall DFMA.
DFMA | Rapid-Prototyping
The attachment was initially designed with safety and intuitiveness in mind, but it required excessive support material and neglected print orientation, making it unsuitable for FDM 3D printing.
Adjustments were made, optimizing the form with chamfers and straight surfaces with reference to the print bed. These changes, made with print orientation and layering in mind, maintain the design's intuitive nature while improving ergonomics with an angular form.
