Dublin City University Work 2014

I was lucky enough to be asked to take part in the AOL Maths Outreach Programme which is aimed at helping kids in the Junior Cycle of secondary school to grasp difficult concepts in the maths syllabus. This is done by splitting the day into two parts.. the first is a lecture/class on the difficult maths areas. The second is a class where the children are taught how to put what they learnt into a more interactive and fun medium.

The day can be seen unfold in the video beow with the groups own video then also below that.

In early January i was asked to come on board with a new programme that was being launched in DCU to help increase the amount of students that would go onto further education from disadvantaged areas.

All the info on this amazing programme can be seen from this Website :- http://unitydcu.ie/

Unfortunately due to  short staff we were only able to do two weeks with the class in Cork (Which can be seen below) but we were able to work with the kids from the Donahies for 4 months.
Nearing the start of the summer i was contacted regarding a great programme that aims to enlighten Kids that are beginning their final year in school about the experience of college and what possible courses they could study.

I was the Co-ordinator for the Photography module of the programme and we aimed to show how photography could be used to portrait certain topics and feeling.

At the end of the week we had an exhibition of the shots with a questionare about the feelings and emotions provoked by each exhibit.
