Osamu Tezuka, also known as the godfather of anime, had an innovative art style and storytelling technique that helped to establish the modern manga and anime industries.
While researching about him and his style, I found out that his style is deeply influenced by the wars. Tezuka frequently explored themes related to war, violence, and social justice. For example, his iconic work “Astro Boy” features a robot who fights to protect humanity from various threats, often involving military conflicts and weapons of mass destruction. In terms of style, Tezuka’s work was also influenced by the war. During the conflict, paper and other materials were in short supply in Japan, leading to the development of a distinctive style of manga that was characterised by smaller panels, simpler drawings, and more efficient storytelling.
The manga consists of 8 panels. The first panel shows Franz Ferdinand’s driver taking the wrong turn into Sarajevo and his subsequent assassination , which leads to the second panel, which shows world war 1. The third and fourth panel shows the rise of hitler and Nazi Germany which leads to the fifth slide showing world war 2. The fifth slide moves on to the sixth slide that shows the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The seventh slide shows Osamu tezuka working on his manga and his unique panelling. The final slide shows how Tezuka has influenced the current anime industry
