The АВС App
The ABC App is a project that I wish to implement. The idea is based on my personal eight years experience in teaching my three children how to read.
It has always been my dream that my children found such passion for reading, that the book would not be the result of my requests, but their conscious choice and love.
My eldest daughter enjoys reading for herself or for her younger sisters in the evening. Reading is a part of her daily life. Now I see how greatly reading develops her imagination and thinking. Such result can be achieved only through interest, curiosity and humor, but not enforcement. I see how hard it is for many parents to study with children, simply because the children do not want to study, they are bored, because young minds crave for exciting adventures.
For a long time I had been thinking how great it would be to share my experience via the app which could work as a hint for parents or a learning system for children, but I could not imagine what it would look like.
When the same thoughts spin in your head for a long time, sooner or later the idea appears. Thus I came up with an idea to create a world where letters would live among magical forests, oceans, rocky mountains and stars, a place where children can conquer space or dive to the seabed, learn about dinosaurs and magicians, pirates, unicorns, mermaids, etc. It’s a good idea to let your child follow this path of magic, because the world of books is so big and exciting, and children are interested in discovering this world.
The app gives opportunity not only to to make this journey exciting, but also invites a child to stop near any letter, to listen to its sound and to find the words beginning with it. The app helps to make sure that the child himself wants to spend more time studying. It can be achieved by involving creative thinking and imagination, as well as humor. For example, you may give your child the opportunity to decorate a letter or animate it by attaching legs, eyes, or causing laughter tickling it. After all, where there is a smile, there is success.

As soon as the user opens the application, he is welcomed with a friendly "Hello!" and immediately finds himself at the very beginning of the alphabet – the letter "A". There are words around it, accompanied by illustrations, and a funny character who will find a common language with the child. It is extremely important to bring a spark of humor here – the character may wink, or stumble, or play hide-and-seek.
You can meet letters in the story randomly or alphabetically.
The child will have the choice to move on to the next letter or to get to know this one. The way through the alphabet is interesting and unpredictable, because the child meets letters in the forest, under the ground, in the sky, in the mountains, at the bottom of the sea, etc. This way allows children to remember not only the letters, but also expand their vocabulary, as well as to meet their favorite characters.
If the child wants to interact with the letter, he may do it through creativity. The child can listen how it sounds, tickle it, color it, or turn it into a monster. And if he likes the result of his creative work, he can save his project. The main goal of this activity is to memorize the alphabet using curiosity, creativity and humor.
Two buttons
There are two buttons on every screen with a story of letter.
The 1st button leads to the creating of an account where you can see your progress, statistics, and settings.
The 2nd button leads to the platform which is divided into several blocks: alphabet, syllables, reading, writing, classes with a speech therapist.
Alphabet. Here you can see the entire alphabet, choose any letter, listen how it sounds, as well as show creative thinking.
Syllables. In this section, the letters begin to make friends. With a simple animation, the child can connect the letters and listen how they sound together, as well as try to repeat. Here the character will help, prompt and encourage children.
Letter. In this section, you can trace the letter with your finger to understand how it is written.
Speech therapist. You may find videos and lessons with a speech therapist in this section.
