Can Mock-Up Before and After
The objective of this assignment is to place a brand over an empty can and create a package from it.
You can find this tutorial on Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRT3eReC/
Before image of can was used with permission by Ambo Ampeng from Unsplash.com
Image of Apple Juice was made by me using Canva.com
Behind the Scenes
Step 1: Once both photos are in Photoshop, I placed the image of Apple Juice over the can the way I would want it to be represented for my finished project. I was able to manipulate the photo using Command>T to have the image selected while being on that layer.
Step 2: Create a copy layer of the can by clicking Command>J.
Step 3: Stay on the copied layer of the can and go to Select>Subject in the toolbar.
Step 4: Make a copy of the can you selected so it can be created in a new layer.
Step 5: Stay on copy 3 of the can and click on the tab of it that will bring you a drop-down menu - select clipping mask.
It should look like this when you click the clipping mask.
Step 7: Next, while staying on that layer of the clipping mask, click on the tab above that says "Normal" and click on "Linear Burn" this will create lines through it that make it look bright and reflective.
Step 8: Then, click Option>Drag the layer 3 copy over the clipping mask so it looks like this.
Step 9: Make that copy you dragged above into a clipping mask by repeating step 5.
Step 10: You will make the layer you just turned into a clipping mask by clicking "Normal" above it and setting it to "Multiply"
Step 11: Turn the opacity down on the can to 25% by using the toggle bar above.
Step 12: While still on that layer, click the circle at the bottom of the layers tab and select "Vibrance" to enhance the color of the can.
Step 13: These are the settings you need to set it to. Vibrance to 100%.
Then click on the box at the bottom to make sure there is no slash through the arrow.
And then set your saturation to 20%.
Step 14: Turn your opacity up to 100% again after completing the vibrance steps. And then you are finished. This is what your layers should look like when you are finished.
