On the 4th of October, 2023, parts of Sikkim was hit by a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood that took with it chunks of towns and villages along the river belt of Teesta. While the GLOF might have been an ecological event, the disaster and destruction that ensued were definitely compounded by the cascade dams along the path of the Teesta.

The photos in this series is an attempt at remembering what happened on that day. Lest we forget.
