Book cover design for "Gierek. Człowiek z węgla"  (literal translation: "Gierek. The Man of Coal") – a biography of Edward Gierek, polish communist politician. From 1970 until 1980 he held an office of the First Secretary of the Polish United Workers' Party. Despite the fact that the time of communist regime was hard for polish society, Gierek's terms of office is recognized today, as considerably good. 

The idea behind the design: There were huge infrastructural investments during Gierek's time. And extensive propaganda of socialistic success too. I wanted the cover to resemble a socialist realism-style poster.
