This is the result of a project assigned in publication. The instructions were to redesign a dust jacket, I chose “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens. The design represents the main character who is soft and delicate but has experienced great darkness and houses some of that darkness within her. I used thin serif type to portray her elegance and paired it with dark imagery that is crucial to the story. This was designed in InDesign. While the typography was edited in illustrator. This design was created by measuring out the book and assembling the design based off of the folds of the book, it was then printed and placed.
