Saving Harlod was one of the first big projects I had to do. Being able to restore this photo in black and white and color helped me learn a lot. I started with the black and white photo first by making a new layer so I could change the pieces and use the right tools to connect them. I focused on putting the top part of Harlod’s picture with the other half. Afterward, I used the path selection tool to connect the two pieces. The spot-healing brush helped get rid of some spots on the photo, a stain, and the crack between the two pieces. I grabbed the clone tool to help create some of the missing edges from the photo. Then I had to use the magic wand and marquee tool to fix the coloring on the photo. I took the crop tool and sized the picture to the right size. Afterward, I did the same thing to the colored version of Harold.  I used the patch tool to fix other places which helped me blend the picture. This project introduced me to the basic tools and how to restore photos to their former selves.
