/ Student Work - Creating shoe packaging for kids (Tomy Takkies)

My concept was to focus design innovative packaging that allows for the reuse of the shoe packaging and in this case - boys shoe packaging. I created a shoe box that kids can interactive with. After the shoes have been removed, the lid of the box allows them to fold/build their own eco-friendly toy from it.

I kept my design very fun and friendly. Using typical colors associated with young boys - red and blue. I used an illustrative approuch to make it attractive to kids of age 6 and up. I also added a little story about a robot called the “tom-o-bot” who lives on mars who teaches the kids how to build a robot mask from the shoe box.
Box lid dieline showing where perforations are for kids to pop-out. Stickers (on the left) are provided for kids to decorate their robot mask wit.
There are straps on the back of the box which allows for kids to carry the box on their back, like a backpack,  after it has been purchased.
