This architectural project envisions a haven – a minimalist tropical home designed to nurture warmth, love, and togetherness for a big family. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the house fosters a deep connection with nature while offering a functional and stylish space for a bustling family life.
Each of the bedrooms offers a haven of peace, featuring minimalist furniture and calming color palettes. Large windows bathe the rooms in natural light and offer serene views of the surrounding landscape.
"Nilambay" is a Tagalog word that translates to "enfolded" or "embraced." It beautifully captures the essence of the house as a place of warmth, love, and togetherness for a big family. It evokes the image of the house embracing and sheltering its inhabitants, creating a safe haven for them to connect and create lasting memories.
The true heart of this home lies in its connection to the outdoors. An expansive deck with comfortable seating becomes an extension of the living space, perfect for family meals or game nights with nature.
Sustainability is a key consideration in this project. Energy-efficient appliances and natural ventilation through strategically placed windows minimize environmental impact. We have reused parts of the old house like windows, roofing and doors. The rubbles from demolished walls were also used as landfill to elevate the house.
This sustainable approach ensures a home that is not only beautiful but also responsible, allowing the family to enjoy it for generations to come.
