Project Brief:

For my part of my Typography class at BYU-Idaho, we were asked to design a gift book that contained a talk given at the most recent General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We were asked to design it for the a specific person. The measurements were 7 X 10 inches and needed to contain 12 pages including the front and back cover of the book. We could only use one image in the book, that of the speaker. Shapes were allowed to break up the pages and create an interesting design, but typography had to be the hero. The project had to have at least 3 colors used throughout. I chose the talk given by Quinten L. Cook, titled "Be Peaceable Followers of Jesus Christ". I chose colors that represented peace and gave a calming effect. I chose block quotes that drew the reader in and helped them know at a quick glance the important message inside.
