ARM ADAPTER FOR SIDEMOUNT TO PENDANT CONVERTION

The ADS is a plumizer adapter intended to convert a simple side mount console into a pendant (hanging) option. At Cyclone Lighting we have three different mounting options: post-up, side mount & pendant. With these different options comes a limited number of configurations that can be made with our standard catalog products. Each order consist of a configuration of metal pole offered in both aluminum or steel, its specific height and diameter that best suits the client's needs, as well as a console arm (optional) and light fixture (post-up, side mount, & pendant). With the introduction of the ADS plumizer to the product line, it now allows for a larger variety of combinations to be offered to the Cyclone Lighting clientele.
The ball adapter follows the same shape and form as the negative space between the ADS body & door for a secure fit, ensuring that the light fixture will not move throughout time due to winds and other weather conditions. The emboss feature is shaped to hook onto and rest upon the open slots shown above, this will help prevent the light fixture from rotating within the adapter once installed. This feature will also help the electrician to align and position the light fixture in the desired angle, which is very important for the photometric values.
WELDING
The ADS ball adapter was made into two separate sizes to accommodate for all our pedant light fixture models. As mentioned above, the ball adapter will be welded directly to the roof of the selected light fixture before heading to be painted. A total of two welds will be necessary to solidify the bonding strength between the ball adapter and roof model. One weld will be applied around the outer edge and the second weld to the interior will consist of four half inch passes at each 90 degrees. All welding for these products are done in house at our factory in Terrebonne, QC.
ALTERNATIVE ADAPTER
A.D.P PLUMIZER
The ADP plumizer adapter is another casted aluminum part produced in this series of items. Resembling the ADS plumizer, this alternative version is specific for pendant consoles offered in our catalogs. The ADP has all of the same details and features as the ADS model but will be welded directly to the console arm instead of being fixed mechanically using fasteners. Again two welds will be necessary, one will be passed around the outer edge and the other for the interior.
WIRING
The ADS plumizer uses a TBC bloc connector to ground and charge the copper wires to the pendant light fixture. A 3 pole bloc connector is used for our standard catalog products, as well as a 5 pole connector for our DIM option. The DIM option allows the client to pre-program a dusk to dawn feature, enabling them to select the time and wattage output for those hours. The DIM wires are identified with a pink and violet pcv tube, as the white, green & black are used for transferring power throughout the units.
MOUNTING
U-BOLT ADAPTER
The ADS plumizer is designed to be mounted to a 2 3/8in diameter extruded metal tube. An integrated slot feature is used to guide and position the 316 stainless steel U-bolts around the tube , then the lock washers and hex nuts can be securely fastened using a hand drill and hex bit.

MACHINGING DETAILS
The ADS plumizer also has a drilling mark integrated on the center of the roof. This helps our production to machine the item in house at our factory for future orders that may need a photocell or finial attached. A 2 1/16in hole is needed to insert a photocell receptacle which gives access to the DIM feature.
