“Hugging you” – Illustrated narrative + 3D model
Hugging you is a personal project that I produced as a gift for my partner. This is an introspective project with a poetic component. After I found a bracelet from 2011 (the year we met), I decided to write a short narrative around it and the story behind it. Making use of the digital illustration as an expression I try to communicate my story in a sequential way, trying to explore the original colors of the bracelet and the concept of the red thread of fate in the book. This thread not only follows the whole narrative but also embraces/hugs the book's covers through it's title. This visual storytelling provides a sense of nostalgia making a connection between 2011 and 2021/2023 (first/recent version) and comprehends a set of ten illustrations all carefully thought. I produced this in 2021 for our 10th anniversary of meeting each other and in 2023 I decided to revise a few of the illustrations and translated the story. After that, I produced a 3D model of this book in Blender and animated a few of its pages.
