My task was to develop a new logo for the amateur basketball club of Moscow State University (MSU/МГУ), which acquired new sponsors and sponsorship from the professional basketball club "Runa" from Moscow. It was necessary to find a compromise between the two logos and strike a balance, keeping the Viking horns and intertwining the letters with basketball lines. And so the idea for this logo was born.

As a result of combining efforts, resources, and interests, the logo of the (MSU/МГУ) student basketball club undergoes a mutation and takes on a new form, acquiring Viking traits.

The modular grid for building the logo was taken from the ornament in the brand book of PBC Runa. Graphical rhymes, patterns, and balance of line thickness form the basis of the logo. The logical extensions of the lines of the letters "M," "G," "U," and the lines of the basketball are key elements of the logo. The seams of the basketball logically extend the lines of the letters and are woven into the ornament of the sturdy system of PBC Runa. At the top, instead of the silhouette of the university building and the warrior's helmet, a neat crown-wreath made from the inscription "RUNA" appears, serving as an ornament of the Viking's helmet.

COLOR VERSIONS 

There are various color versions of the logos for each background from the palette of corporate colors.

MONOCHROMATIC VERSIONS 

The monochromatic version is used in cases where color printing is not possible or for special applications such as engraving, embossing, and others.

A special version of the main logo for cases when it is necessary to use the logo on complex backgrounds.

​​​​​​​SPECIAL LETTERING 

In addition to the corporate lettering of PBC Runa, special lettering for MSU Runa has been developed, built on the same principles.

For applying numbers to the uniform, it is planned to use the existing exclusive font of PBC Runa.

The existing corporate ornament of PBC Runa seamlessly incorporates the new MSU Runa logo. The ornament is suitable for decorating vertical surfaces, frames, and team jerseys. A version of the ornament with a contrasting background is also provided.

The pattern consists of dots and crosses. For Vikings, the starry sky is a map; they saw their path in it. Ancient Scandinavians sailed a lot and made great discoveries, but mainly it was coastal sailing. The adapted vertical ornament is used according to the corporate scheme of MSU Basketball Club.
