THE CITY OF GOLD
illustrated zine
The origin of the song "City of Gold" is shrouded in myths. But the real story is as fantastic as the legends associated with its creation. The zine illustrated on the song's motives tells exactly about it.

The first lines of the song were changed by Boris Grebenshikov: the city of gold appeared to be under the
sky, not above it. This led to his argument with the author of the text: can there be a paradise on earth? For this reason, the zine's illustrations are drawn in isometry, which becomes a combination of two different dimensions: two-dimensional (earthly) and three dimensional (heavenly).
