UMBRA PENUMBRA
Comic Plot Summary
Pen was busy at his work cracking down on the possible suspects behind the killings, but he could  not seem to nail down specific people besides that it could have been someone from their wanted  criminal lists. To take a breather, he frequents Mang Tony’s famous Buko juice in QC Circle and talks with the vendor (becomes one of the victims of the killings that will make Pen realize the  connection behind the victims as they were all killed after visiting the park). This has become his  daily routine. Umbra works at a local art studio and paints people's portraits. After work, it has  become her habit to go to QC Circle and relax, while she also stays there to meet and go home  together with her brother on Fridays. She draws the people there in her favorite pink sketchbook
(which becomes evidence discovered later to pinpoint Umbra as the mysterious killer) gifted by  her brother on her 13th birthday. The people she draws fall victim to her 'other self'. One day,  Umbra had to stay late at the local art studio to finish up an urgent commission for a wealthy client
which led Pei to be at home all by himself. On the same day, Umbra mistakenly left her pink  sketchbook in her room as it was a hectic morning and she was stressed out. Pen decided to cook  her sister's favorite dish as a stress reliever for when she arrives home later. He tries to leave a note but his pen loses ink, so he tries to borrow one from her sister's room. Pen sees the pink sketchbook  on her sister's desk and reminisces the happy memory of when he gave it to her and how grateful  he felt that she had kept it all these years. He picks up the sketchbook and looks through the pages,  and there he discovers the faces of the victims of the murder cases. This surprised him as the QCPD  never released actual images of the victims besides their names. More than that, they were drawn  in a perfect chronological sequence of deaths. Pen was alarmed but decided to leave the pink  sketchbook the same way he saw it and got the pen that he needed for the note. This discovery led  Pen to investigate his sister, although he was still in denial and kept reasoning that it was just pure  coincidence. He follows his sister from work the next day until she goes to QC Circle to wait for  him as it is Friday. He thought that he was just going crazy since her sister did not do anything that  caused suspicion. Pen meets her sister there while trying to not make it obvious that he followed  her all day. While they were there in the park, Umbra suddenly asked Pen if she could draw him  since she thought that she had never had the opportunity to. Pen complied with a gentle smile on  his face without a single ounce of care, not knowing that it was his last day. The morning after,  news broke out that a detective was found dead along with her sister beside him in their home. The  series of murders ended thereafter.
