Landscape Lacquer Painting - Thousand steps (3rd year)

Landscape lacquer painting
This lacquer landscape painting was inspired by a quick gouache sketch when I was on the trip to Sapa. I stood on a steep road and looked down to the valley, here I was attracted by the scenery below therefore I decided to illustrate it with color and took it as a reference for the artwork.
The conch that I was using was razor shell, which gave the slender and breakable material to apply it on the correct shape of the specific area.
The same with previous paintings, after I had finished working on the charcoal version of the artwork, I would scan it and marked the specific areas to apply eggshells or conches onto the panel. This step would allow me to grind in the shells flatly enough so that the very next layers of color would emerge the same thickness with them.
These following steps were applying outlines onto the scan, applying colors and inlaying silver leaves or sieving them, then coating the silver surface with urushi liquid.
These last steps were grinding, fixing the color values based on the original charcoal verson, inlaying gold leaves and polishing the artwork.
