Ferrari SF90 Stradale: A New Era of Performance

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale heralds a new chapter in the storied legacy of the Prancing Horse. Commemorating the 90th anniversary of the foundation of Scuderia Ferrari, the SF90 Stradale serves as a conduit, transferring the essence of Ferrari's racing heritage to a series-production supercar.

This new model is not just a token of history, but a forward-thinking approach to automotive design and engineering. As Ferrari's first series-production Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), it represents a significant shift in the brand's trajectory, embracing electrification without compromising on performance. The SF90 Stradale boasts a staggering 1,000 cv (metric horsepower), a weight-to-power ratio of 1.57 kg/cv, and achieves 390 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.

At the heart of the SF90 Stradale lies a 90° V8 turbo engine, delivering an unprecedented 780 cv, the most potent 8-cylinder engine in Ferrari's history. Complementing this powerhouse are three electric motors, adding an additional 220 cv. One of these motors, the MGUK (Motor Generator Unit, Kinetic), is positioned between the engine and the new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission on the rear axle, drawing direct inspiration from Formula 1 technology, while the other two reside on the front axle. A sophisticated control logic manages the interplay between the engine, the electric motors, and the batteries, offering the driver four distinct power unit modes to choose from.

The SF90 Stradale also sets benchmarks in terms of efficiency and environmental consciousness. It adheres to the Worldwide harmonised Light-duty vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), aiming to provide customers with more realistic data. The WLTP cycle is characterized by a more dynamic driving profile, significant acceleration, and higher speeds than the outgoing New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). The SF90 Stradale's emission figures and fuel consumption are measured according to the updated European Regulation (EC) 715/2007.

In performance, the SF90 Stradale is extraordinary, reaching a maximum speed of 340 km/h and accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. It is a testament to Ferrari's commitment to innovation, seamlessly integrating electric propulsion with traditional combustion power.
