Czech TV´s series PRVNI REPUBLIKA (The First Republic). Postproduction and VFX realized by studio ACE POST (today - SPOON Praha). Approximately 9 months of working on locations and mattepaintings.

Family TV series, which is located to historical backgrounds between 1918 - 1945 in Czechoslovakia, in the period of the first republic. Within this drama and unpretentious family tv series there are historical locations. So, there were quite big environments editing. The plot is placed mainly to Prague-Podoli.

I worked on preconception, studied historical documents like maps and photos to roughly reconstruct historical locations. Next I took some photos in these exteriors today, than we created them to their historical image in studio ACE (Spoon studio Praha).

One of the most complicated scenes was a panoroma from Prague´s historical fort Vysehrad. Changes compared to today´s situation were dramatical. Today, this part of Prague is built-up much more than in history. I made this location to several variations and seasons (day, night, summer, winter, spring, autumn...).

Except mattepaintings I worked on little VFX elements and 3D animations, which I used for making the historical environments more live (animation of water, cars, trams, boats, atmosphere and more..) You can see some locations and VFX, which I did, below.

This next example shows how I changed size and environment around one bulding of the Škvor's Villa

Many scenes were routine. In this case, our team of VFX creators made retouchings or replacements of some objects and panoramas.
