I had severe hair loss and used various anti-hair loss products before, but they showed no improvement at all. Amidst these failures, I continued trying other products until I came across the Original Gold Label Anti-Thinning Biotin Shampoo from the brand Pura D’or. Within a few weeks of use, I noticed a significant reduction in my hair fall. I am still using this product instead of getting clinical therapies. I made a cinematic video for the brand and its product to show appreciation.
The story begins in a dystopian world where nutrients are depleted due to long periods of warfare, and everyone starts to experience alopecia. The main heroin is the only one who has the hair and possesses the nutrient ampule (the shotgun she carries throughout the scenes) and the supporting robot that can save the world. The video is a prologue that introduces the background story of the world and the main characters.
I was inspired by two female characters: Mercy from Overwatch and Nova Terra from Starcraft. Mercy is the most healing-oriented character in the game, and she quickly regenerates her teammates' health or damage. Regarding her position, her ability resonates with the products of Pura D'or. This product can help restore and heal thinning hair and damaged scalps while combating hair loss. On the one hand, Nova Terra is the youngest member of the Terra family. She possesses empathy and charm and is often regarded as the "golden child". Due to her nickname and personality, I was reminded of the Pura D’or’s, which, by definition, is “pure gold”.
After choosing these two characters, I began to unpack their styles, outfits, and weapons to study which ones I could incorporate. First, they both have long blonde hair that emphasizes the richness of the hair and the brand's identity. Second, they wear sci-fi mechanic combat-focused armor. For my character, I combined sci-fi and traditional-style armor, considering that the background of my cinematic is a dystopian corrupted world. Lastly, they use pistols or rifles as weapons. Mercy uses her Caduceus Staff pistol, and Nova uses a Canister Rifle and Hellfire Shotgun. Inspired by these, I designed the weapon in the form of fire guns.
After designing the character, I created the weapon and the robot. To hint that this is a video for the shampoo brand, I utilized parts of the product, such as pump heads. For instance, the buttstock of the character’s shotgun is replaced with the pump head, and the head of the robot is also replaced with the pump head. I also added a liquid effect when modeling the shotgun to give a sense that it has an ampule inside.
After creating a flat character, I utilized a facial motion capture solution with the help of FaceMojo from Daz Studio. Using an application called Facemotion3D, which I installed on my iPhone, I recorded my facial animation while reading the phrases I wrote. Then, I exported the file into FBX and imported it to Daz Studio, where FaceMojo transfers and syncs my facial morphs to the character.
