The animal that I have chosen for this assignment is the Acadian Flycatcher. It is a small species of bird that is facing threats within the Carolinian Zone. I decided to keep the color palettes of the story and mood board mostly neutral, to bring the feeling of nature back into the design. Color theory plays an important factor when it comes to design, and green and brown color palettes are often associated with calmness, and nature. The design is to bring awareness to how the natural habitat of the Acadian Flycatcher has been degrading due to man-made causes. To decolonize, means to bring back the balance between nature and humans.
