World Wines by Sogrape | Visual Identity

World Wines is a project that reflects an absolute desire for affirmation on the part of the Sogrape group, the largest Portuguese company linked to the areas of wine production and export.

With the aim of combining four of the world’s best wines — Bordeaux, Barolo, Port and Alvarinho —
in a high-quality premium pack, World Wines is the result of a display piece in which all the wines fit on an elegant, harmonious and natural block of pure cork.

The idea for the whole final piece came from the notion of “Terroir” and an almost theatrical narrative that tells us about the “love to the Land” and the “wine that is born from the land”. Based on this motto, the four wines grow irregularly and naturally (theatrically simulating the growth of vines and roots) from the “earth”, the display package itself.

Following the same logic, the identity was also focused on finding a simple solution. Starting with
the letter “W” — from “Wine” — there is a deconstruction that ends up resulting in a synthesised simulation of the four bottles fitted display piece. When the identity is applied to the four wines, the result is a monogram that reveals itself as the actual root of the bottles.

The briefing for this fictitious project, given by Sogrape, is part of the BIP (Blended Intensive Project) initiative, an European academic project from the Erasmus+ programme.
