Opalescence

Digital Art
Opalescence results from the diffraction of light in materials with microstructures, such as the silica spheres in opals. The spacing of these spheres affects the diffraction pattern, creating a spectrum of visible light. This phenomenon results in an iridescent play of colour that changes with the viewer's perspective, contributing to the unique and visually striking appearance of opals, characterised by their vivid and dynamic colouring.
