The proposal is formulated in light of two pieces of information: The first is that the climate of the Casamance region in southern Senegal is tropical (hot and humid), with a long dry season in winter and a wet season in summer. The second is that Casamance is one of the least developed areas in the country, where 88% of families have no access to drinking water and 98% of the dwellings have no sewage system. Our motto being the Arabic proverb “The people of Mecca know its ways best and so do the people of Casamance.
FORM GENERATION
the building aims to empower its community through water provision and waste disposal systems. The construction process involves various steps, including establishing a freshwater well and septic tanks, creating a rainwater harvesting network, raising flood protection platforms, erecting structural elements, installing partitions, and completing the roof. This results in designated interior and exterior spaces ready to serve the community.
