My niece requested a unicorn drawing after her brother wanted his super heroes. Here's what happened next...
I saved a lot of the brushes that I used for the super heroes so I could use them again. I really liked how a lot of the textures came through and I wanted to experiment with them a little further. I wanted to explore that style I started with but on different subject matter.
I built the whole illustration in Fresco this time, using the "draw and hold" feature to make the circles. There weren't as many opportunities for the technical lines with this one, but that gave me more room to play with extra textures and brushes.
The art at the end of the live stream was a little light, so I went back in a few days later to add some more values and shadows to bring a little more life to the final piece. Just a few minutes with the multiply tools got us where we needed to be.
I am living for this style of illustration right now, and I am really happy that these were requested for me to do so I could find this approach. I'll be exploring this a lot more. Thanks to these kiddos for making these requests.
