Musa is a genus in the family of the Musaceae, that includes plantains and bananas. To me Musa was/is a muse. The series started sometimes at the end of 2010, during a period where I was craving inspiration as it so often happens. Knowing that I had to start somewhere , I decided  to shoot  some bananas that were laying in a bowl on my table. Understanding the usual symbolism of this fruit, as being masculine, virile, sexual and even pornographic, I was rather surprised to see how once two or three bananas were put together the way they interrelated with each other completely changed, they had a new visual language. They were now more sensual, more mysterious and transmitted a feeling very close to one of affection.  I might continue shooting the fruit and its plant for  a while, and strive to understand its language. Enjoy the series!
