The University of California, Irvine Humanities Commons Logo
I was asked to design a logo that had a literary,
layered and humanistic feel. Quotation marks serve
as the main form, the smaller of which forms the
“C” for commons. The texture of the “C” is meant
to provide the humanistic feel they sought.
Humanities is a multi-disciplinary, research, and
writing intensive concentration. My goal was to
convey this complexity in a subtle way and offer
color variations that could be used to highlight
particular subject matters within the discipline.
