Design for non-usages (extended version)
The Bosch Synergy drill reimagines resource management in tomorrow design industry. It has been designed for occasional users (5 hours of use per year). The battery, the most impactful element,
has been designed to be the DNA of the product. Which  can be used to recharge devices, or as a flashlight when the drill is not in use to add value to resources through an optimized usage pattern to avoid unused goods.

This scenario allows to use the battery longer, to use the same one for different products within the same brand and perhaps tomorrow to go further to break through the barrier of individual brands and create synergies between them.
Lemanoosh Brief
Imagine a brand new BOSCH power tool for casual users (5hours per year)
designed as an alternative to pro existing models.
MOODBOARD 01 - Color cut to highlight functionalities, high contrast, recognizable aesthetic
My own project brief
How might we imagine a new range of power tools, capable to cross brands and models barriers to reduce ressources wastage while answering to space efficiency and fit users needs of intuitivity and time efficiency during use and non-use periods ?
EXPLORATION - The ideation process began with an opening phase where i've dealt with shapes and new functionalities to explore first ideas and concepts. In the same time, it helped me to build my understanding of the initial product. Of course coaches helped me to push my ideas all along !
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT - After these long primary phases of the project, I was faced with numerous design challenges, badly proportioned pieces, a lack of iconicity in the concept, and an overall complex product. So I went back to 3D to think my concept with fresh eyes. And honestly, that's when the magic started to happen: it became iconic, simple to CAD and easier to detail.
Now, let's check the output ! The BOSCH SYNERGIES - Power tool.
A vision of how brands could cross barriers to optimize ressources.
First and foremost, The bosch Bosch Synergies tool is a memorable design, not only for its T-shaped silhouette, but also for the simplicity of its colors. Its unique green-black look is reminiscent of Bosch branding, while drawing attention to potentially dangerous areas.
The design features three main areas of interest. Let's have a look at them one by one.

First on our list is the high-contrast trigger, which draws attention to potentially dangerous areas to protect users and ensure safety. Fingers are protected during use and, what's more, it's very easy
to make sure (as a user) that the drill is locked, as you  simply can't use it if something goes wrong.

The lemon-yellow zone on the body makes it easy to unlock after use, while intuitively showing the assembly to simplif use phases for occasional users. (Using it five hours per year, you can forget)
The second area of interest is the rear screen. Here you'll find a menu containing all the information you might need during periods of use. First, turn the ring to switch on the unit. Three drilling modes will then appear, and once you've selected the one you want, simply turn to choose the power level. Battery level, heat and other infos are also accessible here

The aim is to be able to access informations at all times. That's why the menu is placed in front of the user's eyes, to avoid potentially dangerous changes of posture during use.
The third area is the lighting function, which allows the drill to be used in any scenario. By turning the lower ring, you open and switch on the light, which illuminates the all the surroundings without blind spots to enhance user experience.
But this light is more, it's the driller's battery that you can remove, and use as an energy bank. You might ask why, and our answer would be that we're entering a world of resource optimization, and our current models don't respond well to the problem.

For example, cars have only one use, built with many resources for what? an hour of use a day? Our aim is to give value to the resources we use through an optimized use model. And the best part is, we can imagine that tomorrow we could have just one battery for multiple products. Fewer resources, longer product life!
