Ring the world, wheel the future.
The internationally acclaimed bicycle accessory brand NUVO, deeply rooted in Taiwan, is about to celebrate its 55th anniversary. In honor of this significant milestone, NUVO aims to utilize animated storytelling as a medium to consolidate and weave together the rich and intricate information, presenting a narrative that spans over half a century of family history, corporate prowess, and over a hundred design products. The objective of this collaboration is to break down language and cultural barriers, allowing global audiences to gain a deeper understanding of NUVO through this animation, which seamlessly integrates 2D and 3D elements.
深耕於臺灣的國際自行車配件品牌 NUVO 乃興,即將迎來其 55 週年紀念。為了慶祝這一重要的里程碑,NUVO 希望透過動畫敘事載體,將豐富而繁複的資訊整合、串連,呈現跨越半個世紀的家族故事、企業實力以及逾百款設計產品。此次合作的目標,是打破語言與文化的隔閡,讓全球觀眾透過這段結合了 2D 與 3D 元素的動畫,更深入地了解 NUVO 乃興。
At the first shot of the animation, we ultimately chose to feature NUVO's recent iconic piece, the Triangle Classic Bike Bell. 

With its unique bell sound and design, serving as the first bicycle bell to resonate globally, it embodies a historic milestone for NUVO, which originated from crafting bicycle bells. As this animation revolves around the theme of the continuum of "time", we incorporated a plethora of "lines" in the artistic design so as to embody the imagery of "timeline", interweaving them throughout the dynamic scenes. These lines not only depict key family members driving the enterprise and award-winning design products, but also symbolize the flowing imagery of relentless timelines moving forward.
在畫面的開頭,我們最終選擇採用 NUVO 乃興近期最具代表性的作品「三角車鈴」。

以其獨特的鈴響調音與造型,作為敲響世界的第一顆車鈴,蘊含著 NUVO 乃興由車鈴起家的歷史里程碑。由於這是一段「貫穿時間」為核心的動畫,我們在美術設計中採用了大量的「線條」,穿梭於動態畫面中。這些線條不僅描繪了推動企業的重要家族成員和屢獲殊榮的設計產品,同時也象徵著不斷向前邁進的「時間線」流動意象。
After ringing the first bell, we interwove the history of NUVO Nai Hing into five chapters using a collage-style of virtual and real images and the imagery of a "timeline" composed of lines.

 The first chapter recounts the founder and the establishment year of NUVO. Countless parts are delineated by lines, driving the wheel of time.

In the second chapter, bicycle riders symbolizing observers of the era ride through several generations, witnessing NUVO's gradual transformation.

The third chapter features the intertwining of elements symbolizing NUVO's strength, including the spirit of craftsmanship, punching machines, and award-winning products.

The fourth chapter marks the establishment of the high-end innovation brand "n+1" in 2007, heralding the arrival of a new generation post-millennium.

The final chapter continues to script the next phase, aiming towards the milestone of establishing Taiwan's first green bicycle factory. Ultimately, echoing the initial bell ringing, heralding the next 50 years. 

在用車鈴敲響第一顆鏡頭之後,我們透過虛實影像的拼貼美術風格,以及「時間線」的線條意象,穿插於整段影片當中,將NUVO乃興的歷史,梳理成五大篇章的架構:

第一章節,講述創辦人與乃興的成立年份。透過線條勾勒的無數個零件驅動著時代巨輪。

第二章節,象徵時代觀察者的自行車騎士騎乘跨越數個世代,見證乃興的逐漸轉型。

第三章節,將象徵著乃興軟硬實力的「匠人精神」、「沖床機具」與「獲獎產品」穿插於畫面當中。

第四章節,2007年成立的「n+1」高端創新品牌,宣告跨越千禧後的新世代即將到來。

第五章節,繼續書寫下一個篇章,朝著下一個里程碑「成立台灣自行車界第一間綠色工廠的展望邁進。最終,用呼應開頭的「鈴響」,敲響下一個50年。
We produced a bilingual version to allow NUVO's international clients to watch the video together. In addition, considering the demand for cross-platform and cross-device playback, the final output includes both subtitled and non-subtitled versions, providing flexibility for clients to use in various environments and meet diverse needs, thus achieving optimal promotional effectiveness.

The resulting video premiered at the 2024 Taipei Cycle. On the day of the premiere, retailers from different industries and countries, including NUVO's competitors, warmly responded to the final video, further validating the strength of visual storytelling: even without relying on language and text, audiences could focus on the story arcs and emotions conveyed by the visuals themselves.
我們製作了繁英對照的版本,讓乃興在國外的客戶也能夠共同觀賞。除此之外,考量到跨平台跨裝置的播映需求,最終的產出也提供字幕版與無字幕版,讓客戶在不同環境下彈性投放,以應用於各種需求,達到最佳宣傳效果。

成果影片首映於2024年台北國際自行車展覽會。在展覽會首映當天,來自不同業界與國家的零售商,甚至 NUVO 乃興的競爭對手,都對最終影片反應熱烈——進一步驗證了影像敘事的強項:即使不依賴於語言與文字的表達,觀眾們也能夠聚焦於影像本身所傳遞的故事曲線和情感。​​​​​​​
