White Beehoon: A Festive Feast of Design for Chinese New Year 2024
 
Project Overview:
For the auspicious occasion of Chinese New Year 2024, I had the privilege of crafting a series of celebratory graphic design pieces for "White Beehoon," a renowned Chinese restaurant in Singapore. The project encompassed a vibrant brochure, engaging EDM (Electronic Direct Mail) designs, an eye-catching pillar wrap, and festive flyers, all designed to captivate and allure patrons into celebrating the Lunar New Year with a taste of tradition.
 
Design Elements:
- Brochure: A multi-page layout that unfolds the restaurant's story, special menu, and New Year promotions, adorned with traditional motifs and a modern twist.
- EDM Designs: Customized email templates that blend interactive elements with festive greetings, driving engagement and reservations.
- Pillar Wrap: A standout piece transforming the restaurant's interior pillars into stunning visual statements, featuring intricate patterns and the iconic White Beehoon dish.
- Flyers: Handy takeaways that serve as reminders of the joyous celebrations, special offers, and the warm hospitality awaiting at White Beehoon.
 
Creative Approach:
The creative approach was to merge the rich cultural heritage of Chinese New Year with contemporary design trends. This was achieved by:
- Color Palette: Utilizing auspicious reds and golds, on top of White Beehoon's official brand colours and elements, complemented by elegant shades to evoke prosperity and joy.
- Typography: Selecting fonts that reflect the festive spirit while ensuring readability and brand consistency.
- Imagery: Incorporating images of the signature White Beehoon dish, along with symbolic elements like lanterns and spring flowers, to evoke festivity and appetite.
 
Outcome:
The campaign was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, leading to a significant increase in foot traffic and festive bookings. The designs became a talking point among patrons, enhancing the restaurant's reputation as a destination for both culinary excellence and festive celebration.
 
Reflection:
This project was a testament to the power of culturally resonant design in creating a memorable brand experience. It highlighted my ability to deliver a cohesive and engaging visual narrative that aligns with the client's vision and the festive season's spirit.
