Design Collaboration: 71st Miss World Singapore Designer Segment with Designer Yan Hong

 

Write Up: 

 

Representing my identity as the forth generation of Chinese in Singapore, this dragon theme dress takes on the Chinese culture to represent the union of identity. 

This mythical creature dragon is also known for auspiciousness, this dress took on a modification from the traditional cheongsam. The dress is adorned  with hand sewing techniques of 1000 handcrafted scales stitched up together one by one. From the shoulder pads, to the 3 dimensional dragon hover piece. 

 

This is a piece in tribute to the Singaporean Chinese Culture and the traditional Chinese culture, a symbol of friendship ties.
