It started out as a particle system setup and then evolved into these layered organic paper shapes.

Process
It all started out as a particle system and tracers. Could be good for grass in a paper world.
But I'd like something more abstract...
Getting rid of the tracers. Going for Sweep-NURBS and cloners.
I like where this is going - more geometric and less naturalistic.
Tweaking the NURBS shapes while adding additional cloners. Camera angle and material adjustments done. This is the starting point for the final structures.
