The Pamela Atkinson Homeless Trust Fund's Services

The Pamela Atkinson Homeless Trust Fund (PAHTF) is a state agency run by the Utah Department of Workforce Services. It fulfills the needs of people experiencing homelessness, and ensures that clients can remain in housing once it’s acquired. Both Utah residents and those outside the state can donate via their tax forms, and are eligible for tax deductions when doing so. Utahans can also contribute via a line in their state income tax forms set aside for the PAHTF.

The PAHTF invests its donations in multiple facilities across the state. Its New Horizons Crisis Center addresses clients’ immediate and ongoing mental health challenges, while the Lantern House serves as temporary housing while clients apply for transitional or more permanent housing. Switchpoint connects PAHTF clients with case managers, who can refer them to likeminded organizations to help them apply for and stay in transitional housing long term. Young people are also often affected by homelessness, and Youth Futures is a suite of services tailored to children and teenagers that provides food and job search assistance.
