Week 3 + 4 Editorial/Persuasive

EDITORIAL - Rock, Paper, Scissors. I started with isotypes, and then developed them with facial expressions to add a touch of anthropomorphism.

EDITORIAL - In honour of shark week. I thought I would challenge the common perception of shark behaviour.
EDITORIAL - My opinion in response to recent health issues in fast food restaurants.
This was a story told in isotypes in a graphics tutorial. The next step is to develop these into characters and hopefully find my own style.
The next 2 images are experimentation pages where I had a go at creating my own style of comics to develop from isotypes. Some very scary faces and some that work well - I think the grandpa face was the one that formed a character best.
EDITORIAL -
PERSUASION- In response to the Scottish Independence referendum. My aim with this piece is to persuade against the YES vote. Although I feel that as much as independence is something Scotland has wanted for a long time, it would come at a huge price to its citizens and their quality of life which I believe is far more important than a badge of indepedence.
I have struggled with digital colouring throughout this topic as my strength is not with software skills. I tried so many different ways to make a clipping mask that produced terrible results, I asked friends and searched online. I ended up using a magnetic lasso to colour the shirts but the effect is very simplistic which is not my usual style but I was interested to play it out and see where that style took me.
EDITORIAL - My views on the reports surrounding the recent Federal Budget.
EDITORIAL - I saw an article about spring and rising number of "allergies" people are developing, and this was a product of both of those ideas.
PERSUASION - I wanted the image to convince people to get their heads out the sand when it comes to climate change.
The persuasion is strong in this one.
