Project: Kuyakhanya
Background: IRD and partners are building a network of "playhouses" in rural South Africa. These playhouses will provide a nurturing environment for early childhood development (ECD) and mental health services.
Located at a registered ECD center, offering a safe space for children to play, learn, and receive daily meals. Mental health services for the community are also available. These sites will be run by local women trained to conduct ECD sessions using specially designed HomeKits.
