Negros Island, Phillipines: once-opulent, rich in natural beauty and resource but haunted by the ghosts of its past: collapse, famine, despair.  The soul of this island - and therefore the score - is heavy with loss, but hopeful, especially illustrated in the soaring theme (from 1:45) of the final cue, "Preservation and Perserverence".
