'Interiors' is a photographic essay of observation and reframing that is composed of cut-outs of different photographs. These are geographical coordinates of different rooms.
Through an exercise of visual hierarchy, I dispensed with what was in plain sight, observing closely what appears in the out-of-field, and placing it in the foreground.
My intention is to highlight in the foreground what appears in the background of the scene. Interiors are protagonists and producers of new senses. However, the gaze - regardless of my decision - continues to wander restlessly through the objects and locations that appear in constant tension in each cutout. It is not possible to define a single center of attention.
The careful observation of the interiors and the visual decentering allowed me to have a new perspective on the decisions we make and the automatisms we have when we look at an image.
