Leave No Trace Principle Poster

I was challenged to create a poster that visualized one of the seven Leave No Trace principles used in National Parks. These principles are rules and reminders for travelers, that help protect our natural world.

I chose to represent the principle "Leave What You Find," highlighting that we must leave rocks, plants, archaeological artifacts, and other objects of interest as we find them in nature; in order to preserve both the ecosystem and the story of the landscape.
I thought it would be clever to subvert the common saying "Finders Keepers" to say that this common idea does not apply to National Park visitors. Instead, you must repeat to yourself, "Finders Not Keepers." Alongside, I created a series of colorful critters and treasures, depicting a few of the natural items you may encounter and admire as you adventure, without disturbance to them.
