Wildlife Photography – Chester Zoo

A recent trip to Chester Zoo with Kirsty on my week off, a perfect chance to try out my new zoom lens and have a go at wildlife photography! A really enjoyable day and an enjoyable experience to try my hand at shooting a subject other than buildings! I Loved the new lens within minutes, after having my stock lens for so long (the zoom of which is ridiculously poor), it was great to have a bit more possibility and more leeway to play with a bit of DOF and zoom. Really happy with some of the shots, its really whetted my appetite for wildlife photography think we might have to head off to an owl sanctuary soon and get shooting some more!
The only dissapointing thing about the day had to be the tigers, something I was looking forward to seeing but they weren’t feeling very social that day, they didn’t move an inch from their bed in the bushes the entire day! I say the only thing… £4,50 for a slice of stale pizza is fecking ridiculous! haha Great day though, being an animal lover it was brilliant to see such a wide array and hopefully I’ve done some of them justice with my photography. It was really enjoyable trying to capture a certain look, tell a story, or capture a moment of affection between mother and child – I thought 3D & architecture was my calling but I might have to re-consider, maybe I might swan off and shoot the next Attenborough documentary ;) haha
Hope you’re a fan!
