A Church of the City teve sua fundação em 03 de abril de 1993, denominada Primeira Igreja Batista de Língua Portuguesa de Nova Jersey. Ao longo dos anos, passou por diversas transformações de design, mas recentemente adotou uma abordagem mais discreta em sua identidade visual, com pouco foco em branding.
Foi nesse contexto que me envolvi no projeto de reformulação da marca, buscando modernizá-la enquanto mantinha sua rica história.
Fortalecemos a identidade visual por meio de cores vibrantes e uma tipografia atualizada, tornando-a mais acessível e impactante. O ícone permaneceu intacto, representando a ideia de uma igreja imperfeita, onde os triângulos se movem para dentro e para fora, formando uma cruz. Essa imperfeição nos triângulos reflete as pessoas que buscam se tornar mais semelhantes a Jesus.
O resultado final é uma marca que honra a história e tradição da Church of the City, enquanto abraça um futuro repleto de possibilidades e crescimento espiritual.

The Church of the City was founded on April 3, 1993, named the First Portuguese Language Baptist Church of New Jersey. Over the years, it underwent several design transformations, but recently it adopted a more discreet approach to its visual identity, with little emphasis on branding.
It was in this context that I got involved in the brand redesign project, aiming to modernize it while preserving its rich history.
We strengthened the visual identity through vibrant colors and updated typography, making it more accessible and impactful. The icon remained unchanged, representing the idea of an imperfect church, where triangles move in and out, forming a cross. This imperfection in the triangles reflects people who strive to become more like Jesus.
The end result is a brand that honors the history and tradition of the Church of the City while embracing a future full of possibilities and spiritual growth.
