TRUE CRIME

For this ballet triple bill TRUE CRIME i created an abstract yet very versatile set that gives a framing for all three choreographies and that changes throughout the whole evening. Researching the subject, i chose a stark blue colored empty space with a huge grid of pendant Lamps as a ceiling as one unifying, abstract environment for all three pieces and added or revealed other elements in the progression of the piece. For Andrey Kaydanovskiys Choreography "Chalk", which opens the evening, the set shows a suspended black room cut in half- like the bottom of it missing. We assume an abandoned crime scene and follow four people in their attempt to reconstruct the crime and their search for the evidence. However, more questions seem to arise than they find answers....
